Oh my gosh, I can't believe Atari have gone into bankruptcy, I so hope a good company who will be loyal to the series will take it and move it to the next level.

I was surprised as well, I thought they were doing quite well! If someone buys the franchise, it'll show there's still interest in it and hope for a 4th game.

That's surprised me! I'd imagined that Atari wouldn't have been doing as well as other companies in recent times but I didn't expect them to be bankrupt!
Hopefully, someone will buy out RCT , preferably Chris Sawyer. he should bring the game back up to the original quality.

The intellectual property fire sale that the bankrupt Atari gaming franchises that were sold to pay the company’s creditors included Star Control, Total Annihilation, and Master of Orion — but Roller Coaster Tycoon did not appear within the list of sold properties in the notice Atari’s lawyers filed with the US Bankruptcy Court. Atari clearly felt that the sandbox theme park business sim series was its most valuable franchise: the minimum bid that Atari had set for RCT was $3.5 million, many times higher than it was asking for most of its other IPs.So for the moment, the fate of the RCT property and the Roller Coaster Tycoon mobile game that was in development are up in the air. It’s possible that Atari will now have another sale with RCT and its other unsold properties shifting at a knockdown price.

Surprised no-ones snapped it up yet. Such a major game series I thought would go really quickly.
