Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa is due to close forever on the 1st of February 2015. It has been operating since 1999. This was a Great Coasters International wooden twin coaster.

Wonder why? Last thing I heard is that it was still very popular and there was nothing majorly wrong with it.

I just rode it in the new year and it is very noticeable that the ride has gotten worn down even with the "new" gci trains it was still bumpy and somewhat rough. I also noticed that both of the different color trains are running just one of the tracks as well as the trains and getting worn out and have tears in the seat covers. I really wished my ipod was able to get a picture of the trains but it was too dark. on a different perspective I would like to see gwazi become a RMC hybrid dueling coaster.

That's an idea, CP2013! Since this obviously seems to be the track being in bad condition, retracking this into a RMC could work really well.

That's annoying as it was a good ride. The thing is wooden rides need a lot of maintenance and seemingly, Busch Gardens just weren't giving the ride all the attention and loving it needed.
