The Walking Dead: The Ride - Invades Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park's 2018 New Ride*Cough* Retheme of the Vekoma Enigma Coaster X into Walking Dead: The Ride.

Thorpe and Merlin really does like using dieing IPS for invesments, I'm not suprised that this has happened. But personally I feel this is a really bad move by the park and Merlin Entertainments as the coaster itself is at a best a family coaster, and no ammount of horror themeing will change the facts of it. In a way I would like to be proved wrong, for the sake of the Park as it is the closest park that I live near.

This is such a strange choice. I feel like the GP are going to expect this to be a big fancy new bold coaster, and not a straight up retheme of X. The biggest question I have will this feature new trains from Vekoma? - Cause the trains X has are very different from the body shells featured in that concept art.

^Somehow I doubt it'll have new trains. Perhaps may get a new covering for them though.


Think "Invading" is the correct term here, an invasion of something is rarely preferable. I'd have much rathered they left X as it was with sticking a dying IP on it.

I'm really disappointed in this move from the park. Especially cause the new promotion pictures included in this post, that it will be using the 2013 X trains, which look nothing the train body shells in the concept art.
