Tsunami leaves nine people stranded in Scotland

(This picture is from CoasterForce.com)

Nine riders were stranded for nearly eight hours on the Tsunami roller coaster at "Scotland's Theme Park".

The ride's lift hill suffered a mechanical failure at approximately 4:30pm. The local fire & rescue service removed the first stranded person four hours later. The final person was rescued at 12:45am. No injuries were reported.

Tsunami is a traveling rollercoaster that has appeared at fairgrounds in Brazil, Spain and the (then called) Millennium Dome in London. The ride has been at M&D's since 2004. It features two inversions, is 65ft high and reaches a top speed of 38mph. Tsunami is Scotland's only inverted (hanging) rollercoaster.
