Coaster Zone: The Rollercoaster Social Network

Alton Towers will host a special ‘coronation’ event when the winner of their All Time Greats poll is revealed on Bank Holiday Monday.

The park have been running a vote to find the most popular ride of their five headlining rollercoasters, Air, Nemesis, Oblivion, Rita and Thirteen.

Nemesis is currently leading with over 95,000 votes, way ahead of the closest rival Air on 57,000, and is expected to be declared the winner on 29 August.

Over 300,000 votes have so far been recorded.

Voting closes at midnight on 28 August, with the ‘King’ being declared in a ceremony featuring a red carpet and “other majestic shenanigans,” according to an Alton Towers press release.

Free entry will also be given to the first 100 people that arrive at the park wearing a crown on the day.

I am glad that Nemesis has had allot of support.
Then again I think it would make sense as it is the oldest major coaster at Alton Towers.

For this compitition, they call it All Time Greats although you can only vote for the coasters that are there now. What if anyone wanted to vote for Black hole or thunder looper for this?

Anyhow, I think Nemesis is going to win.

^ That's my point! A lot of people may want to vote for Corkscrew but they can't even though that is an all time great.

Nemesis was crowned "King Nemesis" this week beating Oblivion (2nd place) with 41% of the votes, compared to 21% on the UK's favourite vertical drop coaster.
