Rita's cable snaps

Rita at Alton Towers got all hot and bothered today when the launch cable, snapped during a launch at around 10am.
We have not heard any reports on any injuries so far, which is excellent.
There's a chance the ride will be down for at least three weeks while the cable is replaced and tested; not a great time as Alton hits the height of the season.

That's not good. Wonder what caused it to break?

Hope they get it fixed soon as there's half a plan for me to go to Alton next week.

They have been adding a new cable, but I don't know if it will be open next week.

There is a picture on Alton's facebook of the new cable being delivered so all it'll need now is the cable being put in and tested. In theory, after the cable has been put in it shouldn't be long till the ride re-opens.

Well, I don't honestly know how it happened, I just know it happened. But I would guess that the odd weather we have been experiencing lately could of had some effect on it.
