Wooden rollercoaster manufacturers Great Coasters International (GCI) has announced a new ride type to add to it's portfolio - the Back Track.
Back Track is a shuttle coaster, similar to the steel 'boomerang' roller coasters found at several parks throughout the world. The train is hoisted backwards up a lift hill which then travel forwards through the station and around the track until it reaches another lift hill. The train then completes the same circuit in reverse.
No parks have yet to take up GCI's new concept, although the company is showcasing the model at this years IAAPA Expo in Flordia - perhaps a park or two will buy one! Watch the video to see an animation of the ride concept.
I personally think this is a great idea and that concept looks well fun. Here's hoping somewhere will buy it.
