Air (Alton Towers)

Air was the worlds first flying coaster. Riders are strapped in to the cars, which are then tilted upwards in a 'superman' position. It consists of a fly to lie, barrel roll and various helices and dips. It was designed by Tussauds imagineer John Wardley, and manufactured by B&M. It opened in 2002 and is located in the Forbidden Valley area, adjacent to Nemesis.

This is the only flying coaster to do what they are supposed to do. Make it feel like your flying. You wouldn't do random inversions while flying.

It is a very fun coaster.

You do feel like you are flying on Manta (Seaworld Orlando) but I know what you mean, some of them do have really odd inversions which ruin the flying experience.

Since when has a bird ever done a pretzel loop while flying?

Other than the occasinal twist or fly-to-lie, flyers shouldn't have any inversions.
