Dragon Challenge (Island Of Adventure)

Dragon Challenge is a pair of intertwined inverted roller coasters in the The Wizarding World of Harry Potter area of Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure. The ride is themed to two dragons, one side being Chinese Fireball and the other Hungarian Horntail. It features a layout in which the two trains share adjacent lift hills but then traverse two unique courses. The ride was designed by Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland. The Chinese Fireball dragon reaches a top speed of 60 mph, and the Hungarian Horntail dragon reaches a top speed of 55 mph. Each layout includes five inversions and takes about two minutes and 25 seconds to ride.

Dragon Challenge was formerly known by Dueling Dragons and the tracks were called (Fire and Ice) when it opened in 1998 until 2010, in 2011 it opened as Dragon Challenge. In October 2011, Universal officials announced that the dueling aspect of the ride was to be removed permanently, with the ride instead becoming "a high-speed chase between two coasters."

I think these two coasters will survive without the iconic Dueling Feature but what do you think of Dragon Challenge/Dueling Dragons?

Without the dueling, these coasters are much worse. Back in the days before Harry Potter invaded Universal, it was DUELING Dragons. I think it was very stupid that they did this as they could've done some other safety precautions rather than stop the dueling. High-speed chase means not a single thing because you can't even see the other train, how is that a chase. You can call dueling a high-speed chase.

I totally agree with you XYZ, these coasters were much better when they were Dueling Dragons!

What's the point of a coaster designed to duel that doesn't duel? It's like a seaside resort without the sea. (Does exist!)

Still looks decent though.
