Big-uproar [Canada Creek Railway]

Postby Simba » Fri Nov 04, 2011 11:26 pm

Since Thorpe Park made the decision to close the CCR. Many members on the Mania hub Forums are upset and angry with Thorpe's decision.
I think I am more surprised at the angry Thorpe Park Fans.
Also another big facepalm for TP is the irony that the CCR has been creating because it has been extreeamly busy over the closing days of Fright Night (Normally running with near full trains and queue in the station (Even at night)

Could Thorpe Park do a Flying Fish with the CCR in 2013.

Here is the official CCR Closing Topic: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=386

 The busyness of the railway might be to do with most enthusiasts know it's shutting and want to get one final ride on it.

I can agree with being slightly annoyed (like you are) over the railway shutting and going to miss it a bit but why get angry over it? If they're getting rid of it for a new coaster than it shutting's a blessing in disguise.

Their is not going to be a new coaster in that area of the park.
It's allready full with Colossus, Saw The Ride, Slammer, Samurai and Loggers Leap.
However I think many TP Enthusiasts will complain (Like they did with the Fish) and Thorpe will re-add it to the park.
(I was one of the enthusiasts who complained about the removal of the Fish) and I will do it again for the epic CCR.

On this screenshot from Google maps it shows plenty of space for a decent sized coaster around that area.

However it would affect Loggers Leap.
Mainly because Loggers Leap runs alongside the railway.

Any new ride would affect any area in the park. IMO that area does need a new ride and a wooden would fit the theme pretty perfectly.

It would be nice addition if a wooden coaster was installed into the park.
But here is the Thorpe Park MTD:
Medium Term Development Plan (2010-2016) wrote:The park plans to install 2 Rollercoasters, one in 2012 on Island C, one in 2015 on either Island A or E

The 2 Major rides are expected to exceed the normal height limit of 30m

4 - 5 "Flat Rides" are planned to be installed, the MDTP identifies 9 possible locations for these

No new land creation is proposed during this time

The park plans an increase in visitor numbers from 2 million (in 2009) to 2.2 million in 2016

It is expected the increased visitor numbers will be spread over the quieter times of season, not adding to peak day numbers

Island A is next to stealth and the Swarm Island and Island E is next to the bridge (Entrance/Exit)
However 4-5 Flat Rides or one of the two major rides could fit in Canada Creek.

Ooooooh! Any new rides which great but that makes it sound brilliant. :D

Near the Bridge is also a good spot for a new ride. Possibly means taking out Neptunes beach though which will be good as hardly anyone uses it and it's rubbish. The only use it has is for the Halloween mazes.

I would also like to state that the area of TP called Ranger Country would probabley see most of these new rides installed.
It is a big area if you take a look at it from this areal view from google maps

Aaah that area. That area does need new rides as it felt old and in the middle of nowhere when I got lost inbetween Nemesis Inferno's exit and Slammer. It does also need a decent link between there and by Slammer. When I went I had to wander all the way back pretty much to the entrance to get to Slammer.
