Canada Creek Railway [Thorpe Park]

Postby Simba » Sat Nov 12, 2011 9:51 am

Canada Creek Railway previously took guests to the farm and back, but since the latter's closure in 2007 has been running a loop around Canada Creek.
The ride features a bear hunt which ensures riders will stay amused throughout!

Three trains are available on the circuit; Yellow Nose & Blue Nose - introduced with the railway in 1989, and New Nose which was added to the track in 1994. Trains were 5 cars long, now 3 to allow for the alterations to the route and station. There also used to be an additional station located behind where Rumba Rapids is now located.

However Yellow Nose and Blue Nose have not been in working condition since the 2009 when the CCR returned after the construction of Saw The Ride (2008)
Thorpe Park announced to close the ride at the end of the 2011 season.

This could have been a good ride that people would go on if it carried on round the park, which unfortunatly it doesn't any more. That is why this ride wasn't popular enough for thorpe park to see logic in keeping it.

Ah well. It's gonna free up space for a new ride anyway so :D

Also, edited your post. Thorpe took the descision to shut the ride, not shut themselves. ;)

This was a highly popular ride. It always had full trains whenever I went to the park! (Which is allot considering it is my local theme park)
Thorpe Park have lied before on issues surrounding rides that they have removed.

And I don't believe TP have any plans to install a new ride into that section of the park for a while.

Well, when I went, It was empty and it was the August bank holiday saturday. Meant to be the busiest day of the years for Thorpe.

Like I said, It would possibly be more popular if it carried on round the park or at least made it do something other than go round in that small circle very slowly and not hold up one of the busiest paths in the park while it does so.

It did give good views of Saw though.

Trust me the August Bank Holiday is not the busiest day of the season, If it was don't you think Thorpe Park would cash in on it like Fright Night.

Ok, other than fright nights, in theory it is the busiest day of the season. It's a saturday, a bank holiday, in August and in the miidlle of the school's Summer holiday.

Please don't prejudge this now closed ride.
Like I said above it has been running allot of full trains through-out this season.

I have wittnessed allot stuff over my many years of theme parking at TP and CCR has alway been popular with many different age groups!!!

So the point I am trying to get at is over it's 22 years in service it has never not been extremely un-popular!

Meh. Like I originally put, They're most likely getting rid due to maintence costs, not popularity. It could also be due to them wanting to become more of a thrill park and getting rid of this, in the long term, would be better.
