Saw Alive Closes - Thorpe Park

Postby Simba » Thu Apr 19, 2012 6:16 pm

Thorpe Park wrote:After careful consideration, we have made the decision to restrict the 2012 opening days of SAW Alive to just the Fright Nights period. We are sorry for any disappointment that this may cause but we are excited at the prospect of working on the attraction to ensure that when it returns over the Halloween period it will truly live up to it's description as the world's most extreme live action horror maze.

So thats now three rides Thorpe have closed for 2012 (Canada Creek Railway, Saw Alive, Time Voyager) and they have only opened one (The Swarm).
So this now puts more pressure on the other rides when a ride experiences a breakdown.

Well-done Thorpe, what will you surprise us with next???

Wasn't only open selected dates anyway?

And I thought permanent scare attractions were increasingly popular in Britain.

Yes, But it was also meant to be open for all of July and August.

I don't think they were getting popular over here*, Personally, I think permanent scare attractions were more of an American thing.
*Except October temporary scare attractions.

Here in America, we usually don't have halloween attractions like Saw Alive year round, mostly the rides that are year round are the Haunted House or Ghost Blasters rides in amusement parks.

Errmm.. I believe the London scare attractions are doing well, ie London bridge experience. and Pasaje del terror before it shut due to locational issues.
