FireChaser Express blasts out in Dollywood

Dolly Parton has confirmed that the 2014 rollercoaster will be called FireChaser Express, a dual launch coaster by Gerstlauer.
FireChaser Express will be a much needed new ‘family coaster’ for the park.

It also launch forwards and backwards, with a height limit of only 39 inches, small enough for 4-5 year olds to ride.

Interesting new ride for Dollywood, I wonder what the theme if it has one.

By the sounds of it, it going to be themed around firefighting and will be that you are a firefighter tackling forest fires.

Now this does looks good, I am also quite surprised that the coaster train is going to be a train design, but at least for Firefighting Train it will be reasonably orginal and I look forward to seeing the end result, my guess is that it is going to be a daul launch shuttle coaster.

That sounds a really great idea. To have a relatively major sounding ride with 2 launches designed for 4 year olds will be great for the families at Dollywood.

Something which strikes me as interesting is that because this is designed with younger rides in mind, why they chose to use a launch coaster, especially one with a dual launch, I am mean sure there is a market for it, and I am petty sure this is the first launch coaster in the world aimed for this age group.

I'm pretty sure it is as well. I still think it will be good, just really tame launches.

Fully agreed there, Australianviper. It will only be tame for us, I bet every child that goes on it will be scared and thinking it's the best ride ever.

Plus, Launched Big Apples are the future for anything, even for us. Stick a fast launch on one and it could be seriously intense. A backwards launch would be even better.
