The Smiler - Alton Towers (Gerstlauer Eurofighter)

I think this will look like the mess of track which the concept art/promotional pictures show.
Theoretically it should be a good coaster, with the unquie combinations of inversions and good layout, but as it is manufactured by Gerstlauer I will always have my reservations until I get the oppertunity to ride it and see a on pov of it.

Yes, just remember POVs may make the ride look rougher than it is because the person with the camera may be shaking the camera about severly.

That Serpent Roll looks spectacular, I think Alton have definatly done a good job so far, but I have a bad feeling that the opening of The Smiler is going to be delayed again, because the track work still isnt complete, and neither of the lifthilsl have been erected, plus they wouldn't of been able to electrified the track, because it's still in construction. I hope I am wrong and it will be opened in May.

The thought had crossed my mind that it might have another delay to its opening.
But at the moment I reckon they will still have enough time to get it open for the final week of May.

The trains have now arrived at Alton Towers.

Trains but not a completed layout, I think these trains look ugly from this new picture.

This picture confirms that it will be having over the shoulder restraints, so joins the OTSR team of Alton Towers which already includes Nemesis, Oblivion, Rita and Air

I agree, they do look absolutely ugly, I just hope the ride better than classic Eurofigthers, then they will redeem themselves.

Another picture of the trains has been posted, I am loving the Yellow supports, and think the front is very reminiscent of Saw The Ride's trains.
