Oh my gosh the lift hills have only just today arrived on site! It's going to be a very very tight push to even get this open for May me thinks! If it is even going to be May, considering all the testing, and other construction that is still left to do on the site.

I've just found a picture which illustrate what still needs to be done on site as of 2nd April 2013. Also labelled the legs so people can understand which ones are which.

Their is a possibility that some of the orange pieces may not end up being added onto the coaster.

I never noticed how the entrance to the Serpent Roll, interlocked with the final corkscrew, before until this picture bellow and the plans which Dalek Sec reposted above.

I've noticed that plenty before! Mainly due to the game though.

If the lifthills have only just arrived, there is absolutely no way that this will be open for May. July/august maybe but definitely not May.

I too still have very big doubts that this will be open in May, considering the amount of testing they will have to do, If my memory serves me correctly Saw The Ride did almost a thousand test runs before opening to the general public, so I would imagine that The Smiler would do a similar amount if not more, and would also probably need to do a pull through to make sure their will be no coalitions with the trains and the interlocking track.

The second dive loop looks brilliant, I really do love the way it interlocks with the serpent roll and also how the batwing interlocks with the cobra roll.


Layout wise The Smiler is better than Colossus, however on terms of ride comfort I am sure Colossus is still going to better than this.
