Black Hole (Alton Towers) - Defunct

The Black Hole operated at Alton Towers from 1984 until 2005. The coaster was located within a huge silvery black tent (formally green and yellow) that ensured the ride took place in total darkness. The coaster itself was a Jet Star 2, designed by Anton Schwarzkopf. During the time that the ride operated, the park also operated an outdoor Jet Star 3, designed first for the Alton Beast, and then the New Beast.

I had never even heard of this coaster until I joined the enthusiast world even though I had a feeling there was a ride in that tent. Pity that ride's gone now as 1. I never got on it and 2. that tent is just sitting empty now, occasinally used for horror mazes.


They need a new ride in X-sector as there is hardly anything there and nothing new has been added since Oblivion and the whole area opened.
